Bio

Marine is passionate about people and creating community through design.

Growing up in France and Washington DC, USA, Marine started her career in Paris, building a digital magazine in collaboration with Vice, L’oreal and Museums of Paris that delivered an alternative view of French culture. She worked in advertising for six years before moving “in-house” at Open Polytechnic, crafting interactive digital solutions for learning. Previously, she was the Design chapter lead at Optimal Workshop, creating meaningful, human-centered digital experiences and the Design Operations Manager at ANZ.

Marine cares deeply about sustainability, inclusion and diversity, and brings enthusiasm and positivity to work. She loves to collaborate with ethical businesses, and in 2019, she co-founded startup Reusabowl, a zero waste takeaway option, that brings all of her passions together.

She has taught at Yoobee, School of Design and led the Design Pro Meetup and Design Assembly in Wellington. In and out of work, Marine is always looking for ways to contribute, lead, and use empathy and innovative thinking to brighten the world.

How to design for designers at scale

Design
2022

Designers are always focused on creating great experiences for customers and keeping them front of mind. But who is thinking of the designers? And who is responsible for creating and maintaining a healthy environment for them to thrive in?

Working for NZ’s largest bank has its complexities, especially when you are a designer. I’m part of a Design Ops team of 4 at ANZ supporting 170+ designers globally and 40+ locally across New Zealand.

In my talk I’ll give a brief overview of the bank and how Design operates within it. I will share our Design Ops pillars, how we build a strategy with our ANZ design community and how we represent the voice of designers in leadership conversations. We are always looking at business + designer value to make sure all voices are heard.
