Seeking better search

Research
2022

To many, search might look like a UX problem that is well on the way to being solved. Google’s algorithm can be uncanny in its ability to serve up “hits” when we do a search – and increasingly even when we aren’t searching. But often in information or knowledge discovery, we don’t know what a hit is or what we are even searching for. With expectations for keyword-style search so high, the challenge is on to produce better, more intuitive interfaces for exploratory search.
